It's January 3rd.... Do you know where your Resolutions are?

If your are of a certain age, you'll recognize this question... "It's 10PM do you know where your children are?" from a vintage nightly TV broadcast. The same question applies today, three short days into this fresh new year. It's day three of a brand New Year... Do you know where your resolutions are?

I plead with my clients to practice Resolution Absolution and NOT set intentions for the New Year. But every year, over and over, they do. Did You?

I'm a fitness trainer, but more than that, I'm a coach and have been way before that term became the norm. I study human behavior and help my clients change theirs for the betterment of their health and fitness.

So, as your coach, I can confidently tell you that you can't undo all your bad habits, or change your body in three short days; many folks have already abandoned their resolutions, anyway. You can however, change your mind- that can happen (and does) in an instant.

In my public talks and presentations, I like to explain that fitness and health is more about the thoughts between your two ears than the old saw, "The knee bone's connected to the thigh bone."

Once you change your mind, as the saying and popular MEME goes, you can change your life.

Here are three simple actions, or MICRO MOVES to use as a fitness and health theme for the NEXT THREE days, and by January 6th (!) you'll be on the right path for results this year.

Choose one thing that you can and will do for the next three days from this list (or select one of your own):

- Do 30 seconds of stretching (time it) when you get up - Do three jumping jacks (modified is fine) while still in your PJ's - Stand on one leg while brushing your teeth - Add some of your favorite moves - but make it less than 5 minutes to start!

Then, add on a few more until you have a reasonable activity plan for you! Research proves that starting your day with physical activity is a great way to begin the day as a fit and healthy individual. And, isn't that your goal?
