Is your day spent hanging on the sunny side of the street? You know, mostly positive, smiling, optimistic, assuming good intent?
Or, do you spend a good part of your time in the clouds, or even roaming in the rain?
It's natural to have a few moments of blue, grey or even dark black in your lifetime. However, if you notice you are spending all too much time out of the sun, perhaps it's time to use the #1 tip for banishing the blues: EXERCISE.
Exercise works as an antidepressant- without any negative side effects. Antidepressant medications have been a godsend for many people, but one study found that depression sufferers who did aerobic exercise showed just as much improvement in their symptoms as people on medication.
Exercise decreases stress and anxiety- Making exercise your stress relief "go to" vs. ice cream, cake or that bottle of wine is a way to create your own good karma, sans calories or that dreaded hangover.
Exercise improves your self esteem- being aware of your uniqueness and knowing you "rock" are great ways to see the silver lining in any clouds. You'll think nicer thoughts about your body image, too- a nice bonus!
So, put on your sneakers and shades, you're future just got a lot brighter! Just don't forget the sunscreen now that you're living on the sunny side of the street.
