It’s a sunny time of year, not only in the sky, but also for your disposition!
There is a biochemical basis for this that promotes our overall health and goes beyond producing more vitamin D. It is true that higher vitamin D levels keep our bones strong and reduce our risk of getting certain cancers, but turns out sunlight is beneficial for our mental and metabolic health as well.
If you don’t get enough sunlight you can:

Feel Grumpy or blue
Sleep badly
Feel extra hungry and gain weight
Have a tough time concentrating
Experience back pain
Sunshine also boosts levels of serotonin - your body's natural happy hormone. That's why you may tend to feel happier and more energetic when the sun shines.
Regular sun can stave off moderate depression, particularly if combined with exercise, such as a walk in the park. Of course, be sure to protect yourself with the right sunscreen and see your dermatologist regularly for skin checks.
It's also been shown that exercising outdoors creates more endorphins in the body than exercising indoors. I call it “green exercise.”
Enjoy the sunniest of seasons! Need help creating that workout that can boost your happy hormones, message me for an outdoor workout plan just right for you.
