How are you doing on your New Year commitments?

Ooops!

It's OK, falling into habits from last year is normal.

It's January and it's the time to Kick Off your fitness intentions for the new year, or Kick Up your exercise to boost your results. Wherever you are regarding your health and fitness level, you CAN make real progress in 2016.

But, here are a few ways you can get stuck:

- You intended to eat better, move more and get better sleep this year, but a few days into the fresh new year you are simply continuing last year's stale old habits.

- You're frustrated by your inability to push through all the old reasons validating why you struggled last year- no time, lack of motivation and/or skills.

- You might be in some action with new behaviors, but have no way to measure your progress. Without measures, a workout is just a solitary event, with no true focus or intent and nothing really to use for comparison.

It's important to know: Was it effective? Was it efficient? Was it difficult enough or too difficult? Was it fun?

Over 95% of Americans committed to health and fitness resolutions on January first, yet research suggests that by Super Bowl Sunday (February 7th this year), millions of them may already be disenchanted and off track on their goals, whether it was to lose some weight or gain muscle, better balance or increased flexibility. Or maybe to eat more vegetables or drink more water.

Take two minutes right now to assess your first 13 days of 2016 and begin tracking your progress so you can see the results you desire. That's the number one way to stay motivated, committed and on the right path.
