Do X, Get Y - Fit Training Blog for Women 40, 50 and Beyond
People ask me all the time how to get or stay fit and lean. It's a normal question of a veteran health and fitness professional, sure....
But often when I share a few of the things I do - commit to structured exercise at least six times a week, hard exercise, exercise that makes me sweat and get sore muscles, focusing on good nutrition 80% of the time by thinking about my choices and making good ones, and dedicating myself to self care first, even if it means saying "no" to some things, folks often say, "Well, I couldn't do THAT!"
I chuckle, because when you do (X) some/all of the things a healthy, fit and vital person does, you can expect to get (Y) happier days, more restful nights, lower stress, maybe a longer healthier life, and certainly if/when something happens medically, you are far more prepared to deal with it both emotionally and physically when you go into it fit.
Funny thing is, that most of the folks that exclaim "I couldn't do THAT!" have never tried to do "THAT" and truly have simply decided it's not for them. Huh?
What if you never tried chocolate, or watched a sunset or held a newborn baby because you have never experienced it before?
You will never know what you are missing unless you try what you haven't yet done. Fitness and healthy eating is like that, too. How would you feel if you learned that all this healthy stuff isn't half as bad as you might like to think it is?
Let me know what thoughts this post conjures up... I'm here for ya!
