The Big Game just happened; perhaps you are still grieving or maybe you are gloating?  

 

Did you know that it is said that the great NFL Quarterbacks need to have very short memories?  Just think about the Super Bowl...

 

 

The Super Bowl was a great example of mistakes made and forgotten quickly.  Moving on from a bad play is the only way for Quarterbacks to turn things around- their last "bad pass" can't be allowed to impact the chances of an amazing play (in the next few seconds.)

 

This same lesson goes for exercise and health changes. 

 

  • Your past is not your future, unless you judge yourself harshly for a few missed workouts, dismal sports performance or doughnut binge and label yourself a failure.

  • Forget any sedentary day you had, and move on.  Tomorrow offers a new opportunity to honor your body by moving in a joyful, purposeful way.

  • Set smaller goals and meet them.  Expect to lose one week a month to work distractions, weddings, Super Bowls- it happens!

 

  • Try not to tie weight loss and exercise together.  Increased muscle and improved physical activity is always better than starving yourself to "lose" one pound.  

 

Diets have a beginning, middle and end.
