It's the time of year when many folks, women especially! are running crazed from store to store to find the right holiday gifts; worrying more about tomorrow than today.
You skip nutritious meals, forgo exercise for another office party and stress about spending more than what's in your checkbook.
When it comes to exercise, it's the easiest time of year to justify missing your workouts. There isn't a better time of the year to feel justified for this particular exercise excuse!
However, since we can only live in the present and what you do today really does affect all of your "future today's", you really don't need any more gadgets, gear, DVD's or even me as a fitness coach to make fitness happen.
For the past several years, I have recorded my workouts on a written fitness calendar that I share with my clients, family and friends. My goal is 28 out of 30/31 days per month. It's easy to see if my week was an "A" or a "C".
Other ways to get moving this holiday season:
park four blocks from work and walk the rest of the way, wishing everyone you see a happy holiday
take the stairs to your office even if you take the elevator half way
walk in your neighborhood after dinner, watching the holiday decorations sparkle
use your bike to run local errands, like getting healthy holiday snacks or your pet's their special gifts
Today is the only time we have, the present moment when we make things happen or let live pass by. Need help to keep you on track during these festive, frantic times? Why not put a gift certificate for fitness on YOUR holiday gift list? Call Linda the Fitness Elf @ 203-877-5270.
