Failure is the new AWESOME! - Fit Training Blog for Women 40, 50 and Beyond

Tony Horton, fitness celebrity and star creator of the immensely popular P90X video workout series says in his book The Big Picture:

 

“There’s nothing wrong with failing. In fact, failure needs a new name. “Failure” should be renamed “Awesome.” Everyone loves awesome... Most folks think of failure as the opposite of success, but I beg to differ.

 

It’s like what Winston Churchill said: “Success consists of going from failure to failure without loss of enthusiasm.” 

 

So what that you have tried to lose weight, get fitter and healthier in the past and have not exactly hit the mark.

 

So what that you are over 50 years old and have made weight management and fitness your New Year’s resolution for the past 15 years and failed 15 times.

 

So what that you now have medical issues that make you think “I really messed up!  It’s too late now.”

 

Here’s what you can do to be and feel awesome today:

  • Find a professional fitness or health coach that can help you set a new strategy for your awesome tomorrows.

  • Download and read a motivational book for 15 minutes each morning and start the day off with an awesome attitude.

  • Buy a new pair of sneakers, workout video or simply dig same out of your closet and from under your bed. Put those sneakers on, push play and create awesome physical changes, in as little as five minutes.

We might not all have Tony’s amazing arms and stamina, but we can all learn from this fitness icon the power of AWESOME.
