The Superbowl and Health and Fitness Resolutions- FitTraining Blog for Women 40, 50 and Beyond
As a fitness professional, the Superbowl used to be the test for any fitness resolution. If someone was still committed to their program by this sporting (and eating!) event, I could have a fair amount of confidence that they would continue to follow through.
But, now that the Super Bowl has been pushed to February, it’s an even better litmus test. So, let me ask you, when the kickoff occurs on February 2nd, will you even be able to remember your fitness resolutions? If so, what’s working for you? What’s not?
The cool thing is that every day can be New Years, and you can participate in your own Super bowl any time you please.
Just call a “do over” – a repeat, another chance at setting in place the fitness activities and healthy behaviors you know will honor your body and soul. It is said that failure is a few errors in judgment repeated every day and that success is just the opposite- a few simple disciplines, practiced regularly.
Taking 5 or 10 minutes to center yourself with calming breaths before a treatment, or doing 15 -30 minutes of walking around your neighborhood (or inside your home) to increase your metabolism and limber up is a commitment that most can make, and keep.
Trust me; I have seen people change their lives and their thinking about fitness and health with such manageable endeavors.
Enjoy the game, and keep up (or restart!) your fitness intentions. You too can score a lot more than a touchdown; you can reach your health and fitness goals.
